Year of Action: Sewing for the family

I try to only buy fabric when I have a project in mind so I don't typically have a fabric stash.  However, I do have some random handed down fabrics and old t-shirts to be repurposed.  Plus a just bought some with some of my Christmas money from the Derek's parents.  So I have a few projects I'd like to do to use it all up!

Underwear for the girls.  I think we're potty training in February... so I better start cutting up old T Shirts!

A Shirred Sundress for our Compassion child Delsys (boo! I finished this and then found out that we can't send anything non-paper through customs. Blah!  I guess I need to find a local deserving little girl)

A Snap Wrap Dress for each of  the girls (Mandy D... this is totally in your skill level... sewing girls night when you conquer your tension issues?)

Snowman PJ pants for Mommy, Daddy, Aeralind, Bronwyn, and Sedryn from a recycled flannel queen sheet set
A top or a romper (depending on how much fabric I have) for the girls inspired by this tutorial

Finish Felt food
Dress up Clothes for their 3rd Birthday present
Tutu or a knock off of this tutu skirt for their 3rd b-day party

A Tablecloth Playhouse or a Ruffled Tent Depending on what linens I can thrift up to make it with.

This bag (or a variation) for my birding husband's Bird book, notebook, and binoculars.

A Toddler Tie or just a Tie Onesie for Sedryn's first birthday

Your so good at this sewing thing! I love the dress idea and I totally in. I think I have fixed the tension issues, but let me try a few more practice runs to make sure. I am very ready for a girls sewing night!

If you have enough fabric left over and still feel like sewing, please feel free to make me a tie onesie.

I bet Julia would appreciate me wearing that in public.

Such cute ideas! You are such a good seamstress. You must post pictures as you complete these projects!!

Love this post. I hope to learn to sew this year but I'm already thinking of giving up. Your post is giving me secon thoughts. Maybe if I make a list of things I want to make, I may be able to stick it out.
